Clinical Protocols
Mercury Free and Mercury Safe Holistic Practice. The potentially harmful old fashioned toxic heavy metal mercury fillings referred to as amalgam are not used in our practice. The good news is that there are several available alternatives to mercury. Not only will the safest and highest quality white Nano-hybrid resin composite white fillings that we use enhance your smile, but they will replace those harmful mercury fillings. In laboratory tests, these new state-of-the-art composite white fillings strengthened teeth 7 to 8 times. Looking better never felt so good!
Safe Removal of Mercury Fillings. The mercury free dentists of the world have been acutely aware of the potential for excess exposure to mercury when removing mercury amalgam fillings. Several strategies have been devised for reducing the amount of mercury exposure to both patients and dental staff during amalgam removal. If you have a mouth full of mercury, the removal process could expose you to more mercury than leaving them in unless it is done by an experienced holistic dentist. In many cases, health returns when the consistent mercury exposure is ended. We follow the protocol of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) for safe mercury removal.
Prevention. An ounce of prevention is still worth a pound of cure, and ongoing preventive 
maintenance is key to minimizing future dental problems. Each exam will be comprehensive and evaluate issues with bad breath, oral cancer, sensitive teeth, snoring and sleep apnea as well as cavities and periodontal disease. We are committed to your ongoing dental care following dental procedures and cosmetic smile makeovers. A good motto to follow is: Be true to your teeth … or they will be false to you.
Patient Education. Patient education videos and literature are available in each patient room, and a dynamic way to help you see how dentistry can improve not just your smile, but your life!
Surgical Loupes. Dr. Wright always works in microscopic surgical loupes (binocular microscopes used in surgery) for a more precise result.
Digital X-Rays. We use only digital x-rays which reduce radiation exposure by 90%.
Materials. We offer absolutely the finest quality materials and advanced technology available today. Only the highest quality porcelain crowns and veneers, and the highest quality Nano-hybrid resin composite white fillings and bonding materials are used.
Periodontal Charting. Millions of Americans have periodontal disease and do not know it. It is estimated that over 75% of adults have periodontal disease, the number-one cause of adult tooth loss. 
According to the 1996 American Dental Association/Colgate survey, U.S. dentists say gum disease is a more pressing oral health concern than tooth decay by a 2-to-1 margin. Periodontal disease is an infection of the teeth, gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth. Periodontal disease is treatable but not curable. You will have this disease for the rest of your life. Controlling this condition begins with a thorough diagnosis. To find periodontal disease, we perform a thorough examination with a periodontal probe and x-rays. Periodontal probing measures the depth of the space between your teeth and gums. When you have periodontal disease, these spaces are called pockets. We measure the pocket from the bottom of the pocket, where it’s attached to the tooth, to the top of the gums. A probe reading of more than three millimeters is a sign of periodontal disease. In general, the deeper the pockets, the greater the spread of periodontal disease.
Scaling and Root Planing. The goal of scaling and root planing, sometimes referred to as deep cleaning, is to eliminate the source of periodontal infection by removing the plaque, tartar, and bacterial toxins from the root surfaces of the teeth below the gum line.
Periodontal Maintenance. Periodontal disease can re-activate, as periodontal bacterial colonies begin to re-build every 50 to 75 days. If you are diagnosed with periodontal disease, you will be scheduled for ongoing periodontal maintenance cleanings at least every 90 days to prevent further bone loss and subsequent tooth loss.
Laser Cavity Detection. Early detection of tooth decay is facilitated by the latest in laser technology referred to as Laser Cavity Detection.
Oral Cancer Screening. VELscope Oral Cancer Screening is used for early cancer detection.
+ Medical Grade Sterilization. Medical grade sterilization is a critical component of each patient’s safety and comfort. Our advanced sterilization techniques adhere to a strict 4-step sterilization process with each instrument to guarantee an environment free of harmful bacteria and disease.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Equipment
Our luxurious, soft Napa leather dental chairs with dual positioning headrests provide comfortable proper positioning. Our chairs are streamlined for unobstructed leg room and swivel armrests for easy access. Our custom-made seamless sinks and counters are constructed with Corian® anti-bacterial material for an ultra-clean surface area and our sinks are seamless eliminating bacteria. Our high-tech dental instruments are virtually noise free. Each patient room is equipped with a moveable 19" plasma screen monitor, so you can comfortably watch your favorite TV show, and also view your dental images that were produced by our high-tech digital radiograph system and intra oral camera.

We understand that you may have some anxiety when visiting a Dentist. Complimentary holistic spa amenities relax and soothe you prior to and after treatment.” The waiting room has been transformed into a “Relaxation Room” with natural aromatherapy, an Oxygen Bar, massage chairs and an enormous salt-water aquarium.
Once in the dental chair, patients receive sunglasses, professional jewelry cleaning and lip therapy. During treatment, patients can watch cable TV news, movies or the program of their choice on a plasma screen monitor.
To complete the visit, you are invited to experience a complimentary massage in one of our Aquamassage™ dry water massage beds while remaining dry and fully clothed.
You can then get re-energized at our oxygen bar by selecting from several essential oils in combination with concentrated oxygen. Or, refresh with oxygenated alkaline water, chai tea or cappuccino.
Fee-Based Spa Services
For your added convenience, we also provide fee based Spa services including nail care and skin care services to both women and men in private rooms, with medical grade sterilization for all implements in our autoclave to guarantee absolute sterility.
